Macy + Jarrett

“You can find something truly important in an ordinary minute”
– Mitch Albom
I don’t always get to meet my clients until the day of the wedding or pretty darn close to the wedding, especially if we do not have any session beforehand. I had Macy over to focus on the photography timeline for her wedding but we ended up talking about all kinds of things. It felt like a girls day and anyone who knows me knows I love a good girls day. Macy is sweet and has the cutest laugh I’ve ever heard. Her spirit is calm and her smile is stunning. From all of the stories she told me, I couldn’t wait to meet Jarrett!
Macy and Jarrett’s January wedding at Ducros Plantation was beautiful, emotional and romantic. The girls were pretty calm but still contagiously laughing and I’ll never forget bridal prep from this wedding ever! We hung the dresses pretty high up as you will see, and instead of wasting time finding the ladder, the girls took matter into their own hands. Cheerleaders to the rescue! They literally did a full on prep stunt to get the dresses down…I was literally dying!
Ducros Plantation is seriously gorgeous and gave us ample bright room to work in. The first look with her bridesmaids was also one of my favorite moments. All of the girls were so supportive when they saw her…some smiling, some crying and some adoring her. Macy’s Stella York dress from Town and Country was perfection. The lace cascaded softly and it fit her like a glove. I even teared up a little when I saw her because I just knew Jarrett was going to be beside himself…and that he was.
Jarrett crumbled into happy tears when he saw Macy coming down the aisle. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house when they met in front of that gorgeous oak tree. The only time he took his eyes off of her was when he had to wipe his eyes. Pure love y’all! The tenderness of their love makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Their vows were sweet and subtle. This was incredible to me because a marriage is not all about saying the right things or using profound words and analogies to explain how much it means to you…it is about being vulnerable to each other and showing your support though all the highs and lows of life. Once everyone had a second to dry the happy tears…they were surprised with a confetti exit after the ceremony which was amazing!
The reception was held at The Foundry and Macy iced Jarrett. Do you know what that means?! She hid a Smirnoff Ice in her dress right before he had to find the garter and it was epic. Totally epic. Everyone did that ooooooooo sound in unison then burst into laughter. I couldn’t stop laughing…she got him good y’all! Obviously this group was a ton of fun and I felt like part of the family.
I hope they continue to show each other how they feel just like they did on this day and I wish them nothing but the best as they embark on their marriage journey.
